The largest hotel, conference and event centre complex in the Baltic States has celebrated the Roof top Party

Thursday on 8th of December, Reval Hotel Latvija has celebrated Roof Top party for the new expansion complex. Big scale complex with total investment of 20 mlj. EUR, in the Riga city centre has been made in the frame of expansion project – after completion of it will become the largest hotel, conference and event centre complex in Latvia and the Baltic States.

The new hotel building will have additional 205 modern guest rooms, which in total makes 587 rooms and means Reval Hotel Latvija will become the largest hotel in Latvia and the Baltic region.

The conference and event centre will contain 20 multifunctional conference rooms, 5 halls and 3 business offices. The total capacity of the new centre will reach the 3700 square meters and the total capacity will be able to welcome up to 3000 participants. Additionally the guest of the hotel and also Riga citizens will have a wonderful chance to shop, relax and have a fun in the new entertainment gallery located on the 1st floor of the hotel. It is very important to take also in account the fact that hotel will have a underground parking place for up to 90 places.

“After completion of this expansion Reval Hotel Latvija will have a chance to satisfy the growing demand of the conference and event organization business, especially which refers to the rent of big and multifunctional conference hall rent for up to 1000 persons, international level events and high level service”, pointed Heikki Vanhanen, Reval Hotels country manager in Latvia.

Thus Riga will only strengthen its position as a central place for the conference business in the Baltic States.”

Reval Hotel Latvija`s expansion projects 2nd stage architects are unlimited liability company „Poga, Sarma, Norde”. The Project prospects existing exhibition hall „Latvija” total reconstruction and turn it to a new and modern conference and event centre, the block will also contain the new hotel rooms. The Brīvības street part will be made the unique glass enclosed object „SAKIDA/SLIVER” and the project creators who have won the competition are authors of the architect offices „ Architrāvs” and „India”. Important is the fact that on finishing works of Dzirnavu Street facade will contain elements of self-cleaning flagstones with a special Hydrotect coverage, which has impact of the sun light and is creating the process of the air purification. If we compare the similar effect of 1000 square meters big facade coverage of the building between the natural environments processes that the same effect could be created from the 70 live trees.

The reconstruction works will be finished in March 2006 and the new facilities for the citizens and guest of the Riga city will be opened in April.
