International music festival „LABADABA”, August 6-8, 2010.

The second international music festival “LABADABA” will take place on August 6-8, 2010 in the University of Latvia recreation center “Ratnieki”, Ligatne. Reggae, ethno-folk, rock, electro, and other world music will be played – the kind of music that brightens up the world and cheers up people!

After a four-year break LABADABA is returning with a triple force. This year LABADABA is organized by the event agency PAREIZA KIMIJA in cooperation with the University’s Radio NABA and the new music club NABAKLAB.

LABADABA is a great opportunity to spend the first weekend of August in nature’s lap, just 60 km or 1 hour drive from Riga. Following the traditions of the world’s best festivals, LABADABA offers not only a great musical program, but also educational and creative activities. LABADABA encompasses several meanings – good human nature, good temper, positive environment.

The festival will offer activities for different ages and tastes – artist performances, games for children and adults, an interactive installation “audio bike park”, films, dance studios, photo expositions, horse riding, sport games and competitions, nature trails of Ligatne, bicycling, and various creative workshops where participants will be able to express themselves. The festival will also provide a family friendly environment including a special stage and programs for children, as well as babysitters for the little ones.

LABADABA will make its guests comfortable by offering an option to rent a private room or a bed in the recreation complex “Ratnieki”. Complimentary tent camping will be available at the adjacent vast apple orchard. Parking at the festival will be free of charge.

There will be 4 stages at the festival featuring different music styles with more than 40 bands and DJs. The following performers have confirmed their participation in the festival: The Ukrainians (UK), Lapko (Finland), Otava yo (Russia), Maikameikers (Estonia), Baltic Balkan (Lithuania). Latvia will be represented by Hospitāļu iela, Voiceks Voiska, Striķis, KuchenBeat, Baložu pilni pagalmi, Zig Zag, PND, All Day Long, Das Sonntags Legion, S.I.L.S., Dzelzs Vilks, Afroambient, Big Band, Dzeltenie pastnieki, Inokentijs Mārpls, Rīsa zvejnieki, R. Gobziņš un Resnie putni, Tumors, PK 25, Gas of Latvia, Pērļu zvejnieks, Imants Daksis, Goran Gora, Dodo Dodo, Sun Quay, Oranžās brīvdienas, Pulsa Efekts, Dj Uldis Rudaks, AG & Raitis, DJ Ernesto, DJ Kazulis, Disko Spens, Mūzu muzejs, Pērļu Zvejnieki, Artūrs Mednis, Crystral Sound System, DJ Funkstrot. Festival program will be refined.

In the NABAKLAB club continuous warm-up performances will take place. Those who purchase the festival tickets at the club will receive special offers and prizes.
