Tallinn City Museum

The building of the Tallinn City Museum at 17, Vene Street, in the centre of Old Tallinn, dates back to the 14th century. The exhibition of the museum offers a survey of Tallinn history throughout the centuries from the end of the prehistoric times up to re-independence in 1991.

The Estonian Open Air Museum

The twelve exhibit farmyards offer a wonderful review of the old-time life of households of different wealth and subsistence. Just like in a proper village, here is a church (1699), an inn, a schoolhouse, several mills, a fire station and net sheds by the sea – altogether 72 buildings.

Museum of Occupations

The permanent exposition of the Occupations Museum, which was opened in 2003, reflects developments in Estonia from 1940 to 1991, when Estonia was alternately occupied by the Soviet Union, Germany, and by the Soviet Union once more.

Art Museum of Estonia

At present there are five active branches of the Art Museum of Estonia: Kadriorg Art Museum (Kadriorg Palace and Mikkel Museum), Niguliste Museum, Adamson-Eric Museum, Kristjan Raud House Museum and Kumu Art Museum (the new main building of the Art Museum of Estonia).

Kumu

The Kumu (KUnstiMUuseum) Art Museum is a modern multifunctional art building, which contains exhibition halls, a lecture hall offering diverse facilities, and an educational centre for young visitors and for art lovers.

The Museum of Estonian Architecture - its exhibition halls and archives are placed in Rotermann’s Salt Storage, a magnificent industrial building near Tallinn harbour.

Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design

ETDM is located in the old town of Tallinn in a 17th century storehouse. The collections of Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design offer the largest and most comprehensive overview of Estonian applied art and design.

Estonian History Museum

The collections of the History Museum date back to 1842 when the Estonian Literary Society started to collect items for the would-be museum. At present over 281 000 items are being preserved in the museum. The structure of the collections: Archaeology, Archive, Ethnography, Photos and negatives, Glass and porcelain, History of culture, Art, Furniture, Numismatics, Seals, Weapons, Publications, Foreign ethnography, Textiles.

Estonian Theatre and Music Museum

Estonian Theatre and Music Museum collects, preserves, studies and introduces the Estonian theatre and musicale life. The museum organizes exhibitions, concerts and discussion evenings. In the summer time some museum events take place in the small courtyard of Assauwe.

Tallinn Zoo

Tallinn Zoo holds one of the best collections of mountain goats and sheep in the world. They have an outstanding number of eagles and vultures and a remarkable collection of owl and crane species.
