Castle in Tallinn

The Old Town

Only a few blocks from all the Reval Hotels in Tallinn, the medieval town is a UNESCO world heritage site. The walls, towers and churches date back as far as the 13th Century. Winding, cobbled streets lead to merchants’ houses, courtyards and handicraft stalls. The Old Town has two parts – Toompea Hill, once home to the noble families who ruled the country, and Lower Town.

Kadriorg Park
Tallinn’s Kadriorg Palace was built for Tsar Peter I “The Great”of Russia by Italian architect Niccolo Michetti. The Palace is now home to the Foreign Art Museum of Estonia, and the nearby Mikkel Museum has a collection that includes Rembrandt etchings.

KUMU Art Museum
This modern building, opened in 2006, houses not only the national collection of Estonian art, but changing exhibitions of recent work from all over the world.

Rocca al Mare open air museum
A unique collection of old Estonian buildings on a 79-hectare site by the Baltic sea. See farm buildings, windmills and watermills, listen to folk music and celebrate traditional holidays.

We have also put together a guide to museums in Tallinn.
