New Attractive Hotel for Latvia's Tourist Industry
Riga’s newest first class hotel, Reval Hotel Elizabete, is celebrating its ridgepole festival today, 8 November, on the opposite side of Vērmanes Park, Elizabete Street 71/73.
This symbolic ceremony will mark the completion of an important phase in the construction of the hotel. Works began in 2006, when Linstow AS and the Skonto Būve construction company signed an agreement to build the new hotel, which is scheduled to open in spring 2008.
Reval Hotel Elizabete – a hotel celebrating contemporary living with
228 spacious and stylish rooms, will feature the latest trends in the hotel industry, two fully equipped conference rooms, a restaurant featuring inspiring cuisine in a contemporary and welcoming atmosphere and a hip full-service bar where both locals and visitors to the city can spend time in an informal atmosphere. The Latvian tourist industry will have a new, attractive hotel catering to the needs of business, leisure and conference guests in Riga, and according to the Reval Hotels concept, a hotel that will be an important part of local society.
Latvia leads the Baltics for business, leisure and conference tourism and is becoming a Northern European centre for business and finance. It has also been noted, however, that there is a lack of hotel space and business support services for such travellers. In spring 2008, the new Reval Hotel Elizabete will complete its investment to satisfy the demands of foreign travellers by offering them a full range of hotel services.
The construction of the Reval Hotel Elizabete began early in 2006, when
Linstow AS and
Skonto Būve signed the contract to build a new hotel opposite Vērmane Park. Even back then Reval Hotels as an international chain felt that there was considerable room for further development in Rîga, and the decision to build a third Reval hotel in the city was in answer to demand and the good results already achieved in the Latvian market. Kari Hiltunen, the Country Manager for Reval Hotels in Latvia says: “Expanding our chain of hotels will offer new opportunities for our clients in the city. Reval Hotels will strengthen its position as the leader in the hotel services market in Latvia and the Baltic States”.
President of Skonto Buve, Guntis Ravis says that his company has already been working with
Linstow AS for several years. “We worked on the extensions to
Reval Hotel Latvija, and so we are familiar with the high standards at
Reval Hotels,” he explains. “At the same time, this new hotel presented something of a challenge for Skonto Bûve in the technical sense because we had to work in a limited area which essentially had no building site at all. There were also architectural issues – the new hotel has an interesting but complicated facade. We are very pleased today with what we have accomplished.”
As a first class hotel it will have a total of
13,000 square metres of floor space. In addition to the aforementioned rooms, restaurant, lobby bar and conference rooms, it will also feature a fitness centre and indoor parking facilities. The hotel will offer service according to the highest Reval Hotels standards, state-of-the-art-technology, both in the hotel’s rooms and its conference facilities. The General Manager of the new hotel, Birute Leimontaite, says that the new hotel will be a venue for visitors to Riga to sample the contemporary Riga lifestyle. Everything will be done to make sure that guests enjoy maximum comfort and convenience whether travelling to Rîga for leisure or business.
The architect of Reval Hotel Elizabete is Māris Malahovskis from SIA Nams. The interior has been designed by famous Argentinean designer Gabriela Iglesias and Pablo Stutz from GIAD Ltd, UK and will represent a new look in contemporary design against the heritage of Art Nouveau in Riga.
As a new element in the tourist industry, Reval Hotel Elizabete will offer up to
100 new jobs for tourism industry specialists. Reval offers competitive salaries, a motivation system involving bonuses as well as good career prospects.
The new hotel will help Reval Hotels to strengthen its position as the leading hotel network in Latvia and the Baltic States. After opening the new hotel,
Reval Hotels will operate more than 2,000 guestrooms throughout the Baltic region.
